Journey of a Lifetime Part 4

I made it to Joshua Tree National Park, and I have to say I am amazed by it. The unique vegetation and the gigantic rocks that make for great climbing, are such an interesting combo. There are fields of Joshua Trees and then huge mountains of rocks. The birds are beautiful and I even saw a jackrabbit with super long ears! It started out great. It’s not peak time there right now because it’s hot, so the campsite wasn’t full. I had one person beside me, and a group of men with a telescope who were there to stargaze, across from me. They invited me to come over if I wanted to look at the stars through the telescope. Everyone else was spread around the campground.

I got my camp ready and then walked around for a bit, taking pictures. I stayed up waiting for the sun to go down, so I could see the stars. I didn’t get to see as many stars in Big Bend because there was a full moon, so I was excited for it. They were amazing! I love the stars. They are such a great representation of each one of us. A single one is impressive and lovely but seeing them in mass is absolutely stunning. Each of us is individually beautiful, but together we have the opportunity to be even more beautiful.

We were not created to be selfish, we are meant to share. We were not created to be alone, we are meant for fellowship and community. We were not created to be cruel, abusive, or demeaning to others, we are meant to be up-lifting and kind to everyone. We were not created to be worldly-focused, we are meant to be heavenly-focused. We have these beautiful, amazing heavens literally pointing out the path to happiness, contentment, and joy. It’s an every single night reminder of how much bigger and more beautiful we are together.

We were not created to hate, we are meant to love. We are individually unique, each serving a purpose. I promise your purpose is not to be divisive, angry, mean-spirited, or hateful. It’s not to spread lies against a person or persons. It’s not to be super wealthy or famous. It’s not an earthly driven purpose, it’s a heavenly purpose acted out here on earth. What’s deep in your heart drives your actions. If you are not acting in a loving manner, then you need a heart change to refocus and find your true purpose or you will still be searching for that joy and contentment.

I mentioned a couple days ago that when we are in question on what to do, then we should err on the side of love. That route is never wrong. Because when we err on the side of love, lives are changed, including our own.
